Silambarasan TR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is currently in its post-production stages after the shooting wrapped up recently. Touted to be an action drama, the upcoming film directed by Gautham Menon and featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman has been produced under Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh's Vels Film International banner, with the team on Friday releasing the much-awaited first single track titled 'Kaalathukkum Nee Venum'. The song has been picturized on Simbu and popular Telugu heroine Siddhi Idnani, who is making her Tamil cinema debut in Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, with the visuals giving us the first glimpse into their on-screen chemistry.

Sung by Simbu and Rakshita Suresh to the lyrics penned by Thamarai, 'Kaalathukkum Nee Venum' is a lilting melodious number, and A. R. Rahman has once again hit the high note with his latest composition. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is the third time STR, Gautham Menon, and ARR have collaborated after their 2010 blockbuster Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada in 2016, which as well performed well at the box office. 'Kaalathukkum Nee Venum' is the next in the league of promotions from the team after the Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu teaser was released earlier this year. The VTK teaser received a sensational response and also featured A. R. Rahman's powerful vocals in the 'Marakkuma Nenjam' song, which as well became a huge success with the fans.
Apart from STR and Siddhi Idnani, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu includes an ensemble cast featuring the likes of acclaimed veteran actress Radikaa Sarathkumar, followed by Paava Kadhaigal fame Aangelina Abraham, Malayalam actor Neeraj Madhav among others. The film also has a talented technical team among whom are cinematographer Sidhartha Nuni, editor Anthony, and art director Rajeevan. As of now, no release date has been announced for Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, and an official word is expected from the team in the days ahead, considering promotions have finally begun.
