Director Bala has produced the upcoming Tamil film Visithiran under his B Studios banner, which stars popular film producer and actor RK Suresh in the lead role. Announced for a May 6 theatrical release, the upcoming film is a crime thriller and is an official remake of the smash hit 2018 Malayalam film Joseph, which featured Jagame Thandhiram fame Joju George in the lead role. Visithiran has been directed by M. Padmakumar, who also helmed the Malayalam original, and marks the second occasion RK Suresh has collaborated with Bala after he played the villain in the ace filmmaker’s 2016 film, Tharai Thappattai.
Less than a week before the film's release, the makers have now released the much-awaited Visithiran trailer, which looks both intense and interesting right from the get-go. We see an aged RK Suresh in the midst of investigating various deaths and solving crimes, while also battling his own demons from the past and in the present. RK Suresh is joined in Visithiran by actresses Poorna (Shamna Kasim) and Madhu Shalini, while the supporting cast also features names like Ilavarasu, Marimuthu, Jorge, Bagavathi Perumal, and JP among others in crucial roles.
RK Suresh is seen sporting a bulked-up look and had put on 22 kilos for his role in the Visithiran and resembles quite a lot like his Malayalam counterpart Joju George in Joseph. Chart-buster composer G. V. Prakash Kumar has churned out the tunes and the background score, with the film's audio, launched in Chennai a while back. The film also has a talented technical team among whom are cinematographer Vetri Mahendran, editor Sathish Suriya, and art director Mayapandi, while the dialogues are written by John Mahendran, the director of 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Sachein. Apart from Visithiran, director Bala is currently working with Suriya on a film being produced under the actor-producer's 2D Entertainment banner and will mark the duo's reunion after they earlier collaborated in Nandha and Pithamagan.
