These days, many regional films get the opportunity to be showcased in International festivals and thus in turn get a lot of recognition too. We had already told you that Director Vasanth S Sai’s Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum got screened at the 29th Fukuoka International Film Festival held in Japan recently. Now, the film has even won the Best Film Award at the Festival! The director of the film received the award from Hariki Yasuhiro, festival director, and Kubota Isao, chairman of the film festival committee.

Sai’s Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum revolves around the life of three women who tackle everyday problems. Upon receiving the award, the director said, “I am very humbled and happy that the film has won the Best Film Award at Fukuoka International Film Festival. I thank the festival team and I'd like to place on record my writers - the heroes - the late Ashokamitran, the late Aadhavan and the living legend Jeya Mohan. They are the backbone of this film and I would like to thank them in a big way at this happy time."

The film stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, and Kaleseewari Srinivasan, with Karunakaran in a supporting role. The film has two more screenings at the festival on September 18 and 19.
