There is a huge buzz surrounding Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan as the film's story will revolve around an alien character, with the first visuals previously unveiled earlier this year in a special glimpse receiving a stellar response. Initially planned for a Diwali release in November, it was announced last month that the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film will be coming out in theatres for Pongal and Sankranti in January. The Ayaalan team wrote: "It's going to be an extraterrestrial treat this Pongal/Sankranti 🌾🪔 With the primary goal of ensuring that our #Ayalaan reaches its full potential, we believe some extra time will allow us to enhance the film's quality for a remarkable viewing experience. We are confident that the wait will be worth it, and it will be a celebration in theaters. You've waited so long for this and all we could ask is for a few more months. As a gratitude for your love, we are bringing you #AyalaanTeaser in the first week of October. We look forward to welcoming our visitor this Pongal/Sankranti 🛸👽 #AyalaanFromPongal #AyalaanFromSankranti" (sic).
Ayaalan has generated massive interest and curiosity after it was revealed that it would include the highest number of CGI shots for a pan-Indian film considering the alien character plays a key role. It has also been revealed that the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer will have over 4500+ VFX shots making it the first full-length live-action film in Indian cinema to achieve the feat. Ayalaan will see Sivakarthikeyan paired with Rakul Preet Singh, while Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Banupriya, Bala Saravanan, among others have been cast in key roles.
