STR’s upcoming film tentatively titled STR 45 kicked off production not long back with actor Gautham Karthik also roped in to play a major role as the second lead. Kannada director Narthan is making his debut in Tamil cinema with reputed production house Studio Green bankrolling the venture, which is said to be an intense action gangster drama. With filming progressing for a while at a steady pace, it has now been revealed that comedian and Bigg Boss season 2 contestant Sendrayan has been cast in STR 45 in an important supporting role.

There are massive expectations surrounding STR 45 right from the moment the project was announced with many speculating the film is a remake of director Narthan’s Kannada blockbuster, Mufti, which had Shiva Rajkumar playing an underworld don and Srimurali appearing as a police officer. As of now, it is being said Simbu is reprising the role of Shiva Rajkumar while Gautham Karthik is taking on Srimurali’s role from Mufti. It remains to be seen if STR 45 is indeed a remake, which will be known as we near the release of the film.
