Leading Tamil actor Karthi is the talk of the town as he tasted massive box office success in Viruman and will be seen next as Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyadevan in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: 1, which is hitting screens worldwide on September 30. Currently touring the country to promote PS: 1, the Kaithi actor also has in his lineup the highly-anticipated Sardar, which will show him appearing in multiple get-ups while sporting different looks. Announced to open in cinemas worldwide as a grand Diwali treat this October, the much-awaited Sardar teaser has now been unveiled ahead of Ponniyin Selvan's release and will no doubt come as a big delight for Karthi's fans, who have been waiting to witness visuals from the film for a while now.
The Sardar teaser starts off with several people at high places on the lookout for an important individual, who has been masquerading around with different looks. This person infiltrates the Indian Army’s confiscation vault and slips away with the secrets of the country's nuclear plans, which if revealed in public will lead to complete chaos. The name and nationality of the person behind the heist are unknown, who is revealed to be holding eight passports. Authorities zero in on six individuals, who are later identified to be a single person and a spy. The teaser then gives us glimpses of Karthi in various get-ups, with his code name revealed to be Sardar.
Directed by PS Mithran of Irumbu Thirai and Hero fame and produced by S. Lakshman Kumar's Prince Pictures banner, Sardar has been billed to be one of the biggest and most-promising films releasing this year and is being presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu. Billed to be an action thriller, the upcoming film has Karthi sharing screen space with Raashii Khanna of Thiruchitrambalam fame and Karnan heroine Rajisha Vijayan as the female leads, while Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey, Laila, Yugi Sethu are among the others appearing in major supporting roles with the music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
