Samuthirakani debuts in Malayalam

After Prabhu and Sarath Kumar, popular Tamil director-actor Samuthirakani, who directed Naadodigal (which was remade in Telugu as Shambo Shiva Shambo by Samuthirakani himself), is all set to debut in Malayalam as an actor.

He will be the villain in superstar Mohanlal's ongoing Malayalam film Shikar, directed by Padmakumar. It was Mohanlal who recommended his name to Padmakumar. Mohanlal was reportedly very impressed with Samuthirakani's performance in Subramaniapuram and the way he performed his role as the politician villain.

In Shikar, Mohanlal plays a lorry driver named Balaraman, who transports goods between cities in South India. Shikar will have Samuthirakani in a role as important as Mohanlal's role. Naadodigal heroine Ananya appears as Mohanlal's daughter, and Lakshmi Gopalasamy plays his wife. Shooting has started in Kothamangalam, Idukki, and the film is slated to be Mohanlal’s big Onam release in September.
