Leading South Indian actress Samantha has been on a signing spree of late and had announced her next film to be helmed by the Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan duo of Ambuli fame under reputed Telugu producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad's Sridevi Movies banner. On Monday, Sridevi Movies announced that their upcoming multilingual film coming out in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages has kicked off production, with cinematography by Mynaa fame Sukumar and the film's title revealed to be Yashoda. Samantha has garnered a huge fan following across South India, especially in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana after she appeared in recent years in blockbusters like Janatha Garage, Rangasthalam, U Turn, including Jaanu. Last seen in Jaanu, the Telugu remake of the blockbuster Tamil romantic drama 96, Samantha who is awaiting the release of the Tamil rom-com Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal alongside 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara under Vignesh Shivan’s direction, will be wanting to hit the bullseye with Yashoda. The pan-Indian film incidentally is her next in Telugu after she wrapped up Shaakuntalam, a mythological drama based on the popular Indian play Shakuntala, by classical Sanskrit author Kalidasa. 

Samantha is currently the talk of the town after she recently announced her Hollywood debut titled Arrangements of Love under BAFTA winner Philip John's direction, whose credits include Downton Abbey and The Good Karma Hospital. Having won praises from fans and critics for her power-packed performance in the Amazon Prime series The Family Man season 2 earlier this year, she also has in her lineup a Tamil-Telugu bilingual being produced by blockbuster production-distribution banner Dream Warrior Pictures.
