Ace director Mani Ratnam is currently busy with the shooting of his next film, Ponniyin Selvan. The new schedule of the film began last week at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and the makers are currently shooting some of the important sequences in this ongoing schedule. Ponniyin Selvan is a historical epic based on the novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film has got huge expectations among film buffs and fans as it happens to be Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project. The stellar star cast is also an additional reason for the fans to be excited. The lead characters are played by Chiyaan Vikram (Aditya Karikalan), Jayam Ravi (Arulmozhi Varman), Karthi (Vandiyathevan), Trisha (Kundhavai), and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Nandhini).

The film will also witness several other notable actors including Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Rahman, Aadukalam Naren, Nizhalgal Ravi, Mohan Raman, Riyaz Khan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Chidambaram, in supporting roles. With so many exciting talents already onboard, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan have now added one more member into their casting and it is a big addition indeed. Yes!

Ace actor Prakash Raj has been roped in to play an important role in Ponniyin Selvan and it marks Prakash Raj’s reunion with Mani Ratnam after OK Kanmani. Prakash Raj played one of the leads in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar and his performance received rave reviews from the critics and audience. The super hit combination is now all set to unite again, this time for a historical epic. Prakash Raj took to his official Twitter page to share this update with his fans and followers.

The Ghilli villain was recently seen in the Netflix anthology, Paava Kadhaigal. Prakash Raj was seen in Vetri Maaran’s directorial - Oor Iravu and his highly impactful performance worked in the favour of the movie. Prakash Raj will also be seen in an important role in the Vishal - Arya starrer, Enemy, directed by Anand Shankar of Iru Mugan and Arima Nambi fame.
