Prabhas' much-awaited magnum opus, Radhe Shyam, which was officially announced to hit the screens on January 14, 2022, for the festive occasion of Pongal / Sankranti has now been postponed indefinitely due to the recent surge in the Covid 19 and Omicron cases in the country. An official statement from the makers was released today (January 5) and it has made the fans sad and heartbroken.

Radhe Shyam team's official statement read, "We have been trying our best for the past few days but considering the growing cases of Omicron variant, it looks like we will have to wait for our labour of love to get to the big screens. Radhe Shyam is a story about love vs destiny and we are sure that your love will help us rise over these tough times together. Will see you in the cinemas soon!!!". Earlier this week, a section of media had reported that the makers of Radhe Shyam were offered with massive deals for a direct OTT release, but it looks like the team is quite confident of bringing the film to the theatres, no matter how long the wait is.

Radhe Shyam is said to be a visually appealing film and only a theatrical experience would make it an exciting watch for the audience. When the Covid-19 and Omicron cases in the country come down, we may expect Radhe Shyam to get ready for release. Rumours are rife that the film might opt for a release in April 2022. Let us keep our fingers crossed and wait for an official development. Radhe Shyam which features Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, under the direction of S Radha Krishna Kumar, is a period romantic story set in Rome.

Produced by UV Creations on a grand scale, the film has songs composed by Justin Prabhakaran and background score by Thaman S. Find below the official statement from the team of Radhe Shyam regarding the postponement of the movie here:
