Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith announced his next production venture titled J Baby under his Neelam Productions banner on Tuesday evening. The directorial debut of Suresh Mari, a former associate of Ranjith, the first look poster of the upcoming film has also been unveiled and the cast includes 'Attakathi' Dinesh, veteran actress Urvashi, who delivered a sensational performance in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, and popular comedy actor Maaran of Lollu Sabha fame. The (Journey) of J Baby first look gives us a glimpse into the film's plot and one can expect an emotional family story with plenty of humor. 

J Baby - Baby's Day Out is a joint collaboration by Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions in association with Golden Ratio Films and Little Red Car Films. The banners had earlier collaborated on the police crime thriller Writer starring Samuthirakani last year and will reportedly also be producing upcoming ventures to be directed Lenin Bharathi (Merku Thodarchi Malai), Mari Selvaraj (Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan), and newcomer Akiran Moses. Jayanth Sethu Mathavan, who is known for his work in the National Award-winning 2020 film Baaram, has been roped in as the cinematographer for J Baby, while Cuckoo and Joker editor Shanmugam Velusamy will be taking care of the cuts and Tony Britto of Koorman fame is the music composer. Pa. Ranjith, who has also carved a niche for himself with the films he produces under his Neelam Productions banner, will be looking to come out on top with J Baby after his Pariyerum Perumal, Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu, Writer, and Kuthiraivaal, most recently, garnered appreciation from audiences and critics alike. As for his upcoming films on the director's seat, Ranjith, who hit the high note last year with his boxing action drama Sarpatta Parambarai featuring Arya, is set to present his next, Natchathiram Nagargirathu, starring Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan in the lead roles alongside Kalaiyarasan. He is also gearing up to begin shooting with National Award-winning Tamil actor Vikram for their Chiyaan 61, which will be produced under K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green banner. Ranjith will also be making his Bollywood debut with a biopic titled Birsa, which will be based on Jharkhand tribal leader, Birsa Munda.
