Naai Sekar Returns is an upcoming dark comedy film written and directed by Suraaj and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. The film stars Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu in his comeback film after five years having last starred in 2017 action thriller film Mersal directed by Atlee starring Thalapathy Vijay. The film's music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan in his first collaboration with Vadivelu and Suraaj.
The makers of the film announced yesterday (November 13) that the first single from the film titled 'Appatha' will be released today (November 14). Well, that time has come. The song is of the rap genre and is sung by Vadivelu himself, with its lyrics penned by lyricist Vivek, while its choreography taken care by none other than Prabhu Deva Master. Vadivelu has also danced with much grace to the song which starts and fans are beyond excited to see their favorite comedian's performance after a long long time.
Naai Sekar Returns will also star actors Redin Kingsley, Shivangi, Lollu Saba Maran and Yiddish Prashanth in prominent roles. The film is a spin-off of Vadivelu's character in Suraaj's 2006 action crime film Thalai Nagaram. Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for the theatrical release of Nai Shekhar Returns. There are reports that the film will have a runtime for 2 hours and 20 minutes and will soon receive its censor certificate. The team behind the film is planning to release the teaser and trailer for it soon as well.
Meanwhile, on the work front, other than Naai Sekar Returns, Vadivelu is acting in Mamannan directed by Mari Selvaraj starring Udayanidhi Stalin. He is also currently acting in Chandramukhi 2 produced by Lyca Productions.
