Mahesh Babu's father, the veteran Tollywood actor Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, known mononymously as Krishna, was hospitalized after he complained of breathlessness earlier today (November 14). He was rushed to Continental Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad around 3.30 a.m. According to doctors, his condition is stable but he will be under observation for three days.

Krishna is believed to have suffered mild cardiac arrest. Mahesh Babu's wife Namrata and other family members shifted him to the hospital. As the news spread about Krishna's hospitalization, messages poured in from all over for his speedy recovery.

The veteran actor turned 79 in May this year. The superstar of yesteryears was reported to be depressed since the death of both his wives, Vijaya Nirmala and Indira Devi in the last two years. Krishna is coping with the loss of his first wife, the mother of Mahesh Babu, Indira Devi and his second wife, Vijaya Nirmala, who passed away in 2019. He also lost his elder son Ramesh Babu to a prolonged illness on 8 January 2022.

In a career spanning five decades, Krishna acted in more than 350 films. In 2009, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema. Meanwhile, on the work front, his son Mahesh Babu will share the screen with Pooja Hegde in the movie tentatively titled SSMB28, directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The music is composed by S Thaman. He will also team up with the RRR director, SS Rajamouli. The untitled drama is expected to go on the floors in 2023.
