Yuvanshankar Raja and Lingusamy are back together again with Vettai. Their previous outing Paiyya was a super success with the audience, and they sure hope Vettai will follow suit. Here's a quick look at what's in store...

Papparappa sung by Yuvan himself and Renu is already quite popular with the listeners. It combines peppy and folksy beats, with some whacky catchy lyrics by Na. Muthukumar. However, the similarity to the title track of Bodyguard(Hindi) is unmistakeable.

Then there is Damma Damma in the voices of Haricharan and Swetha Mohan. The lyrics are about marriage and the various emotions associated with it. It's another folk-style number.

Kattipidi is sung by Swetha Pandit and Vijay Prakash. It's the breezy and peepy number of the album – with some quick beats and fun lyrics. Interestingly, this is Yuvan's fav track in the album. Both singers have done a good job.

Thaiya Thakka is sung by Harini and Saindavi. This one's a fun song for the girls. It's a lyircal conversation between two sisters – the younger one asking the elder sis what kind of a husband she wants. Na. Muthukumar's lyrics combined with Yuvan's rhythms, highlight this composition.

Dham Dham is for the boys, sort of in the lines of Theradiveedhiyile(Run). The song is sung by Karthik and Krish, and the two have given life to Na. Muthukumar's words and thoughts.

The verdict: The Vettai music album falls short of Paiyya in terms of spunk and soul. But on it's own, the album is a bouquet of fun songs apt to the rural setting of the film.
