Mumaith Khan turns snake woman

Item specialist Mumaith Khan's recent Telugu film Punnami Nagu, directed by A. Kondarami Reddy, is now being remade in Tamil as Pournami Nagam with Mumaith once again in the lead role under the direction of Yaar Kannan, known for his science fiction and horror thrillers. The pooja of the film was recently held at the Prasad Studios.

Featuring Mumaith Khan in a dual role for the first time in her career, the film revolves around two Naga Devatas (female snakes), who want to perform a ritualistic dance before Lord Shiva in a bid to save the world from the fast approaching collapse and annihilation.

While they prepare for the special dance, a male snakein their group is killed by some smugglers for 'Nagamanickam'. One of the female snakes (Mumaith Khan) looks for vengeance and waits for a chance to get a right body to get into human form in order to bring back the lost 'Nagamanickam'. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

According to sources, the Tamil remake will have some minor differences from the original. Pournami Nagam willhave plenty of dances choreographed by Tara, Ashok Raj, Sivasankar and others. Nizhalgal Ravi, Karunas, Mayilsami, Sampath, Delhi Ganesh and Nalini are in the cast. Shooting will be in special locations like Bommalapalayam. A lot of computer graphics will be used to enhance Bernard’s camera work. G.K. handles art direction while S.A. Rajkumar composes music.
