Atharvaa Murali and Jai Bhim fame Manikandan are two popular actors in Tamil Cinema who have delivered stunning performances in many films. The two actors are coming together for a project titled Mathagam, which is a Hotstar Original. The makers revealed an exciting teaser from the project. The web-series was announced two months back with a promo video and is directed by Prasath Murugesan of Kidaari fame. It was shared with a caption "The Night is Long," as the makers had announced earlier that it will revolve around events that happen in 30 hours.
The teaser of Mathagam opens with a voiceover by Atharvaa Murali saying what can happen in one night, it can make people wander without knowing what’s right or wrong. The actor is playing the cop role in the series. It then shows a series of events involving police and goons as a voice over continues, "It will remove hope from our hands and give us doubts". They then introduce Manikandan’s character with a shot of him stabbing a person, which shows he is playing the role of a person who goes against the law. The teaser video then shows a glimpse of the characters played by director Gautham Vasudev Menon, popular television anchor Dhivya Dharshini, Nikhila Vimal, and others. The voice over and the video then ends saying "This night is long."
The action thriller Mathagam has music composed by Darbuka Siva of Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee fame. The series is directed by Prasath Murugesan, who previously made the film Kidaari and also co-directed the web series Queen. It is produced under the banner Screen Scene Media. The web-series also has Gautham Vasudev Menon, Dilnaz Irani, Ilavarasu, Dhivyadarshini, Vadivukarasi, Thirunavukkarasu, Munnar Ramesh and others in important roles. Disney+ Hotstar is yet to reveal the release date of the exciting project.
