Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is the next big release in Tamil cinema and the fans have pinned high hopes on this mega biggie. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on September 30 and the film will have a pan Indian release in 5 languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. The makers have released two songs from the film so far - the first single, 'Ponni Nadhi' and the recently released second single, 'Chola Chola' and both the tracks have opened to a favourable response from the fans and music lovers.

The fans have been looking forward to hearing the rest of the songs from the album and an exciting treat awaits fans. That being said, one of the fans recently tagged A.R.Rahman on Twitter and requested him to release the song sung by Shreya Ghoshal very soon. On a very surprising note, Rahman acknowledged the request, asking him to wait until the first week of September to hear the song. Rahman's reply tweet read, "Wait till September 1st week 😊". The grand audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan is rumoured to take place on September 6 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Auditorium in Chennai and Rahman's latest tweet seems to be a confirmation on the same.

Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice to one of the songs in the film and that song seems to have already piqued the interest of the fans. Ponniyin Selvan features Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles and has an ensemble supporting cast that includes the likes of Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayaram, Lal, Parthiban, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Chidambaram, Mohan Raman, Rahman, Riyaz Khan, baby Sarah Arjun, and others. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film will also be released in IMAX.
