Congratulatory messages are pouring in for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) from across the world on their successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon on Wednesday, August 23. Among the wishes that have caught everyone's attention is leading Tamil actor R. Madhavan, who hailed the scientists and the entire team behind the monumental achievement in a video he posted on Instagram. Madhavan, who wrote in the caption of the video, "JAI JAI JAI HIND🙏🙏🙏🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀", can be seen getting teary-eyed while expressing his elation on the historic day where he says, "It is a matter of pride not just for me, ISRO scientists but for the entire world. Congratulations to IRSO...I'm going to be blabbering today but what an achievement... I'm so happy and proud and as everyone should be."
Continuing with his praise for the ISRO scientists and the team, Madhavan said in Hindi, "Yaar, main aapko bata nahi sakta, yeh kitni badi achievement hain. Yeh baat toh sehraniya hain hi ki hum chand par utar paye, woh bhi south pole mein pehli baar, but jis limited resources and budget ke saath humne ise achieve kiye...I don't know kitna tareef kar sakte hain. Maaf keejiye, mein bakwaas kar rahaan hoon, par mein bahut hi excited hoon. (I can't begin to express how big an achievement this is. It certainly is exceptional that we landed on the surface of the moon, but the fact that we did it with limited resources and budget, I don't know how much can one be appreciated for that. Forgive me for blabbering, but I'm really excited. This feels so good. It's fabulous to be part of history like this and to be there at that moment when Chandrayaan actually touched the surface of the moon. And, ISRO scientists, hats off, I don't know what to say, but I'm so very happy."
Madhavan, who portrayed Nambi Narayanan in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022), gave a shout-out to the former scientist and aerospace engineer of the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), after his Vikas engine was instrumental in the launch of Chandrayaan-3. He said, "I am so very happy for Nambi sir, his Vikas engine again has proved to be successful with the launch. Keep making us proud, sky se bohut aage nikal chuke hain aap (You have gone beyond the clouds). I wish you all the very best for greater explorations of the space. To the government of India, to the Prime Minister, to every Indian, feel proud. This is an amazing moment in history and I am so happy and touched. Jai Hind."
