The Kalki 2898-AD team paid a special tribute to 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi on his birthday on Tuesday, August 21, with a glimpse from the editing suite of the big-budget science-fiction film. Prestigious production banner Vyjayanthi Movies posted a short video of Prabhas lighting up a portable gas burner recreating an iconic moment from the veteran Telugu superstar's Gang Leader (1991), which went on to become one of the box office successes in the actor's glorious career. It is to be noted that Prabhas has on several occasions in the past stated that he's an ardent fan of Chiranjeevi and this latest video has once again shown the depth of his admiration.
Sharing the video on X, Vyjayanthi Movies revealed saying the special treat they have posted now is, "Straight from the hearts and the editing room of #Kalki2898AD", while extending their hearty wishes to Chiranjeevi for an extraordinary birthday. There is massive buzz surrounding the upcoming film being directed by Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin as Prabhas will be seen sharing the screen with several big Indian cinema superstars namely Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, while Deepika Padukone is cast as the female lead and Disha Patani will be seen a key role. Kalki 2898-AD had its first visuals unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 in July and created history by becoming the first-ever Indian film to debut at the popular global entertainment event.
Prabhas' Kalki 2898-AD is riding on tremendous buzz considering there have also been reports stating that Kamal Haasan might be playing the antagonist, leaving fans excited about their big-screen face-off, with an official confirmation being awaited. Scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on January 12, 2024, the film will feature music composed by hit Tamil composer Santhosh Narayanan.
