Karthi has multiple interesting projects in his pipeline and one among those happens to be Viruman, directed by Muthaiya of Komban and Kutti Puli fame. Viruman will feature Karthi playing a rooted rural character after a long time and it looks like an interesting film awaits the fans. Viruman will mark the acting debut of Aditi Shankar, daughter of ace filmmaker Shankar and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing the performer inside her. The film is currently in the post-production stages and this will be Karthi's next release in Kollywood.

That being said, the makers have now officially announced the release date of Viruman and the update has garnered wide attention on social media. Karthi's Viruman will hit the screens on August 31 and the official announcement about it was made through a special poster which has been doing good rounds on social media since this evening. The film will bank on the Aayudha Pooja festival holidays and it is expected to take a very good opening at the box office. Viruman is touted to be an action packed family entertainer that will be high on emotions.

Director Muthaiya and Karthi are coming together after the blockbuster success of Komban and it is going to be interesting to see what the successful duo has to offer with Viruman. Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner of 2D Entertainment, Viruman will have music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the star composer's work is going to be one of the highlights of the flick. Viruman also has Soori, Prakash Raj, and Raj Kiran in supporting roles, with Maanagaram fame Selvakumar handling the cinematography.

Following Viruman, Karthi will be seen in Mani Ratnam's historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 which is slated to hit the screens on September 30, a month after Viruman's release. Ponniyin Selvan, which will have Karthi playing the role of Vandiya Thevan, has got huge expectations.
