Jaishankar's birthday remembrance
The Jaishankar Medical and Charitable Trust has kickstarted the 71st birthday anniversary of ‘Makkal Kalaingar’ Jaishankar, the yesteryear actor referred to as the 'James Bond of Tamil Nadu'. The celebration was inaugurated by├п┬┐┬╜Union Minister G.K. Vasan in Chennai.
"We intend to celebrate his birthday anniversary in a big way by doing a dozen free eye surgeries and a lot of free eye checkups to the needy and├п┬┐┬╜downtrodden. Each eye surgery would cast nearly Rs. 20,000, which will be met by Jaishankar Medical and Charitable Trust. We also intent to contribute for treatment of other ailments of├п┬┐┬╜poor people who are├п┬┐┬╜not able to afford it," Dr. Vijay Shankar, son of Jaishankar, said in a press note.
Late Jaishankar, born on July 12, 1938, was one of the most popular heroes who has done some of the best philanthropic activities in Chennai. He├п┬┐┬╜acted in more than 100 films.
