Sun Pictures' Kalanithi Maran met 'Superstar' Rajinikanth on Thursday, August 31, and pictures of them coming together are now taking social media by storm. The reason for their sudden meeting has been revealed to be to celebrate the success of their latest film Jailer's massive box office success, with the blockbuster film producer seen presenting a cheque to the iconic Tamil actor. With Jailer turning out to be highly profitable for Sun Pictures, it is also the fourth time both Rajinikanth and Kalanithi Maran have witnessed a favorable outcome after their previous collaborations Enthiran (2010), Petta (2019), and Annaatthe (2021).

Rajinikanth's Jailer released in theatres worldwide on August 10 crossed over 525 crores in global collections last week while breaking several previous Tamil cinema records. The mass action entertainer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar included an engaging screenplay, with 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander's chart-topping hit songs and a power-packed background score elevating the film to new heights. Despite Jailer now being out in cinemas for three weeks, there's no stopping audiences around the world from watching 'Superstar' Rajinikanth in action on the big screen.

Jailer had Rajinikanth appearing alongside several big names across Indian cinema among whom included Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal, and Bollywood star Jackie Shroff in powerful cameo roles. Likewise, the film also features the likes of Vasanth Ravi, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Mirna Menon, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq, Sunil, Marimuthu, Kishore, Rithvik, Karate Karthi, Mithun, Arshad, Naga Babu, Billy Muralee, Sugunthan, Saravanan, Aranthaangi Nisha, Mahanadi Shankar, with Mariyan fame Vinayakan cast as the antagonist. With Jailer crossing 500 crores, it now remains to be seen how much the film goes on to make at the box office since it is still set to continue enjoying a strong outing in theatres.
