I.G. from today

Scriptwriter-turned-director B. Unnikrishnan's long-dragging Suresh Gopi starrer I.G., which given a clean ‘U’ certificate by the Regional Censor Board in Thiruvananthapuram, releases today (April 3) in 65 screens across Kerala. After Smart City (2006), an average flick at the box office, this is the second time that B. Unnikrishnan teams up with Suresh Gopi.

Produced by Mahi under the banner of Super films, I.G. is a cop story showing how youths are trained by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) in Pakistan to be sent as suicide bombers├п┬┐┬╜to various parts of our country. Suresh Gopi plays IG Durga Prasad, an Anti-Terrorism Squad chief. This police thriller is scripted by the director himself.

I.G. has Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan, Devan, Govind Padmasuriya, Rajan P. Dev, Aashish Vidyarthi, Nandhinee, Lakshmi, Anaida Nair and John Kokkan in prominent roles. Cinematography is by Shyam Dutt. M. Jayachandran has set music to lyrics by Gireesh Puthencherry.

Suresh Gopi's second Telugu film Aa Okkadu, directed by debutant M.S. Murthy with Ajay and Madhurima in the lead, is nearing completion with one song and climax yet├п┬┐┬╜to be completed. Suresh Gopi has a cameo appearance in this film produced by Ganapati Raju Indukuri under the banner of Tolly 2 Holly.
