Harikumar sings again

Just a few days ago, we reported that Harikumar, the dance-choreographer-turned-actor, crooned a song with Shankar Mahadevan in Madurai Sambhavam, in which he plays the lead. Now, we bring you news that he has also sung a solo in the film!‘Suttuputtan’ is more like a montage and describes the story and theme. Music director John Peter liked Harikumar’s voice so much that he made him sing this important song. John also says that heroes singing their songs in a film help the viewer to relate to the subject better.

Not long ago, Vikram surprised us by singing all his songs (four) in Kanthaswamy. Now, Hari has sung two songs in Madurai Sambavam, pretty close to Vikram’s record! It looks like the days of M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar – when heroes sang all their songs – are back!

Directed by Eureka and produced by Suresh Balaji, Madurai Sambavam is based on a true incident that happened a few years ago in Madurai. The film also stars Anuya (of SMS fame) and Karthika (of Thoothukkudi fame). With a promise that people and culture of Madurai will be shown in a new light, Madurai Sambavam is all ready for release.
