The actor-producer-director, father of proud sons Selvaraghavan and Dhanush, has been instrumental in bringing about a change in Tamil cinema by producing films based on adolescents and problems faced by them. In fact, his younger son Dhanush became famous after starring in his production Thulluvatho Ilamai, based on a similar theme. Thereafter, Dhanush established himself as a star in Kollywood. His elder son Selvaraghavan, walking in his footsteps, has become one of the important directors of Kollywood.
