Happy Birthday Bhagyaraj Sir!
The multi-faceted K.�Bhagyaraj is an actor, director, script writer and producer. He is one of the best screenplay writers India has ever seen. Movies made by him are usually based on social themes which also carries a prominent message for the community.
Bhagyaraj began his career as an assistant director to G. Ramakrishnan and Bharathi Raja. The script for Kizhake Pogum Rayil (1978) is his early work and this was incidentally Raadhika Sarathkumar's first film. He made his directorial debut with Suvarillatha Chittirangal (1979).
He soon established his own company and started producing a string of distinctive Tamil films. Bhagyaraj was usually the hero of the films he scripted and directed, effectively carving out a niche for himself in the actor-auteur vein. He even made a foray into Bollywood and directed stars like Amitabh Bachchan.
His blockbusters include Indru Poi Nallai Vaa, Mouna Geethangal, Andha 7 Naatkal, Darling Darling Darling, Thooral Ninnu Pochu, Mundhanai Mudichu, Thavani Kanavugal, Chinna Veedu, Idhu Namma Aalu and so on. His latest film was Parijatham which�witnessed the debut of his daughter Saranya.
Now, Bhagyaraj is currently wrapping up Siddu +2, First Attempt starring his son Shanthanu as the hero.
