Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is an upcoming mystery film written and directed by Rian Johnson, and produced by Johnson and Ram Bergman under the banner of T-Street Productions. It is the sequel to the smash hit 2019 whodunit Knives Out with Daniel Craig back reprising his role as Benoit Blanc, a master detective taking on a new case.

The makers of the film have released the first look at Rian Johnson's oddly-titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and it is wildly chaotic. The teaser introduces us to our new cast of potential murder victims (or murderers), played by a stellar ensemble cast consisting of Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista.

Detective Benoit Blanc arrives at the scene of the crime when Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island for a murder mystery game and someone actually turns up dead. If you are wondering what the mystery is, we are not sure yet, but it must have something to do with the cryptic puzzle boxes that were sent to all the island's visitors. Perhaps these characters have all been lured to Greece with the promise of a prize — only to be dragged right into a crime scene.

While promoting Knives Out in 2019, Johnson hinted at the possibility of a sequel and In March 2021, Netflix bought the rights to two sequels to Knives Out for $469 million.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will have its world premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival on 10 September 2022 and will be made available to stream on Netflix from December 23 onwards while it is still awaiting its date for theatrical release.
