Two-time National Award-winning Tamil actor Dhanush is on cloud nine these days after the spectacular box office and critical success of his Thiruchitrambalam. All set to be seen next in Naane Varuvean under Selvaraghavan's direction this month, the leading actor's 3, which came out in Tamil in 2012, has now been re-released in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and is witnessing houseful shows in the Telugu-speaking states. The sensational response to the Telugu version of the film has come as a huge surprise for fans and the trade after its re-release on Thursday, September 8.

According to reports, the bookings for the tickets for 3's Telugu version in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are sold out in theatres, leaving many in the film trade business quite stunned. Special re-release posters for the romantic psychological thriller film starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan have also been unveiled, with the film now once again trending on social media platforms. 3, a romantic psychological thriller film released in Tamil in 2012, was the directorial debut of Aishwarya Rajinikanth, and also served as the musical debut of 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander.

According to the trade buzz, there is talk that 3 will see big business over the weekend as the film has many crowd-pulling factors to its advantage apart from the lead stars' on-screen chemistry. Aishwarya Rajinikanth struck gold in her film-making debut with the Dhanush-Shruti Haasan-starrer and reaped laurels for her screenplay and direction, which shed light on bipolar disorder. 3 was also the debut production venture of Wunderbar Films banner, which was founded and launched by Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
