Director Arun Vaidyanathan honoured

Achchamundu Achchamundu director Arun Vaidyanathan was awarded the 'Iyakkunar Ilaval' title by the New Jersey Tamil Sangam. The director, who is a New Jersey resident, shot to fame in Kollywood after the release of his critically acclaimed movie Achchamundu Achchamundu featuring Prasanna, Sneha and Emmy award winner John Shea. The movie was screened at the Shanghai, Cairo and IFFI film festivals and won many accolades.

Achchamundu Achchamundu explored the sensitive issue of child sexual abuse through the life of an Indian American family. On receiving the title, director Arun said that he was proud of the honour, as he considered New Jersey his second home after Sirkazhi. He also announced that he has projects in Kollywood, and is in the process of writing those scripts.
