One of the most popular Tamil film directors, A. L. Vijay married actress Amala Paul in 2014 after which they decided to part ways and got divorced in 2017. Since then, the hit filmmaker’s name has popped up several times in media reports with rumors of a second marriage, all of which he went on to subsequently avoid. Now, director A. L. Vijay has issued an official statement saying he will be getting married to Dr. R. Aishwarya in July 2019. He further went on to state it is going to be an arranged marriage and will be held as a private ceremony while also expressing his gratitude towards the press and media for the support over the years for standing by him through the various trials and tribulations in his life.
AL Vijay has worked with several top stars in Tamil cinema and is known for notable films namely Kireedam, Madrasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal, Thaandavam, Thalaivaa, Saivam, Vanamagan, Lakshmi, Watchman as well as the hit Devi franchise, which had its sequel, Devi 2, released last month. He is known to be one of the few filmmakers to have attempted his hand at making films with different themes and is an aspect not many have been able to achieve.
