A section of the media reported that Vijay Sethupathi's Dharmadurai is based on the ancient Jallikattu game. However, director Seenuramasamy has now clarified that the film has no links to the historical game. We hear that the film is based on the relationship between brothers. It is a rural entertainer set against the backdrop of Theni village.
Produced by Studio 9, the film also stars Tamannaah, Aishwarya Rajesh and Srushti Dange in important roles.
