Leading Tamil actor Dhanush on Wednesday, June 21, announced his next Hindi film with blockbuster director Aanand L Rai and Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman titled Tere Ishk Mein. The upcoming film's announcement has come on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the trio's first association, Raanjhanaa, which went on to become a phenomenal nationwide success. Taking to Twitter, Dhanush shared a video of the Tere Ishk Mein announcement showing him in his new look, with the promo shot only a few days back after he filmed major sequences for his upcoming Tamil film, Captain Miller.
The Tere Ishk Mein title announcement video shows Dhanush sporting a thick beard carrying a Molotov cocktail and running as windows on a nearby bus get shattered. We see the actor smoking a cigarette while running before coming to a stop and throwing the crude bomb on a wall that has the words 'FROM THE WORLD OF RAANJHANAA'. There is also dialogue in the Tere Ishk Mein promo and Dhanush saying the innocent Kundan in Raanjhana would accept everything that came his way, but his new character Shankar will stop at nothing as he walks away from the huge fire and flames blazing across the wall.
Dhanush has also penned a heartfelt statement announcing Tere Ishk Mein, while extending his gratitude for making Raanjhana a memorable film. He wrote, "10 years of Raanjhanaa, Some films change your life forever and it's apt to say this is one such film. Indeed, it changed all our lives. My sincere thanks to each and everyone of you for making Raanjhanaa a classic. (sic)" Dhanush's statement further reads, "Now after a decade... a story from the world of Raanjhanaa, TERE ISHK MEIN.. I don't know what kind of journey awaits me, But I'm sure it's gonna be an adventure, For us and you all. Thank you. Har Har Mahadev. Love you all. Om Namahshivaya (sic)".
Announced to come out in cinemas in 2024, Tere Ishk Mein marks the third time Dhanush, Aanand L Rai, and A. R. Rahman are coming together for a film after their Raanjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021). Being produced under the Colour Yellow Production banner, the film touted to be an intense romantic action drama will have a story and screenplay written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, with cinematography by Vishal Sinha, followed by Sham Kaushal for the action direction, Nitin Zihani Choudhary for the production design and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.
