National Award winner Dhanush seems to be the name on everyone's lips nowadays. The lanky school boy from Thulluvadho Ilamai, went on to win the Best Actor National Award for his Aadukalam, and is now on the cusp of his Bollywood debut. Dhanush will be marking his entry into Hindi films with the movie Raanjhanaa, to be directed by Aanand L Rai. Sonam Kapoor has been chosen as the female lead. Raanjhanaa will have Dhanush playing the role of a Varanasi boy.

Director Aanand wants Dhanush to get the complete feel of the character, and to get it right, he has given Dhanush a number of Raj Kapoor's films to watch. Talking about this, the director says, "I want Dhanush to totally transform into a Varanasi boys so I gave him DVDs of movies like Shree 420, Awaara and Mera Naam Joker. I want him to notice the peculiarities of the roles, and then give his own touch to them."

Dhanush is currently working on a Tamil film, and is spending all his spare time preparing himself for Raanjhanaa.

Considering that Dhanush is the man with the 'Midas Touch', we are sure that his maiden B-town venture will go great, too!
