In what will come as a massive surprise to Tamil cinema fans, it has now been officially announced that the highly-anticipated Dhanush-starrer Captain Miller has been postponed to release in 2024. The team of the upcoming film directed by Rocky (2021) and Saani Kaayidham (2022) fame Arun Matheswaran on Wednesday, November 8, confirmed the release date along with a new poster stating that the period action drama will be coming out as a Pongal/Sankranthi release in January 2024. The team wrote in their latest announcement, "Our #CAPTAINMILLER is all set for a grand Release this PONGAL / SANKRANTI 2024 😎  #CaptainMillerFromPongal #CaptainMillerFromSankranti" (sic).

Initially announced to come out as a massive release in theatres starting December 15, the postponement of Captain Miller will no doubt come as a big disappointment to Dhanush's fans, who have been looking forward to witnessing the two-time National Award-winning actor in action on the big screen for quite some time. As of now, no particular reason has been given for the sudden change of plans in Captain Miller's release, but fans can expect the team to deliver a power-packed theatrical entertainer once the post-production works are completed.

The wait is now on for Captain Miller's first single, which is expected to be released in the days ahead, with the film's audio launch also being planned to be held soon in a grand manner. Featuring music composed by National Award winner G. V. Prakash Kumar, the expectations for the film are huge and the response to the teaser released on Dhanush's birthday back in July stands as a strong testimony. Captain Miller will see Dhanush sharing the screen with several talented artistes starting with Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, while youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan will be seen as the female lead. The film's star cast also includes Maanagaram actor Sundeep Kishan, Thunivu villain John Kokken, Sillu Karuppatti actress Nivedhithaa Sathish, Merku Thodarchi Malai hero Antony, among others in pivotal roles.
