An unexpected clash between the police and locals in Gujarat's Godhra broke out when law-enforcing authorities were barricading a containment zone in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus as part of the lockdown measures. Superintendent of Police (SP) Leena Patil in her statement said, "The barricading of the containment area was being done by the civic authorities and the police. Some locals protested and threw stones at them." Soon after, the police had brought control in the area by employing tear gas. Ms. Patil added saying, "We used tear gas as a measure to control the situation. At the moment, the situation is under control,".
