Popular Tamil comedy actor Pugazh is on cloud nine as he and his wife Bensi Riya are expecting their first child and a baby shower ceremony was held on Sunday in Chennai in the presence of family members and close friends. The function saw several notable celebrities from the Tamil film and television fraternity wish the couple in person, including singer-actress Sivaangi Krishnakumar making an appearance. Photos and videos from Pugazh and Bensi Riya's baby shower function have gone viral on social media, with fans also showering their love and wishes on the couple ahead of the next big phase of their lives. 

Pugazh, who shot to fame across Tamil Nadu after his stints on the hit Vijay Television on the stand-up comedy show Kalakka Povathu Yaaru and the reality cooking competition show Cooku with Comali (CWC), tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Bensi Riya last September and made the announcement of their pregnancy earlier this month. Sharing the news of Bensi's pregnancy on Instagram, Pugazh wrote, "She has been my growth partner, and has now taken me to the next level of my life. She has given me many gifts all these days, but today there is no match to the gift she gave me. There is no greater joy in this world than thinking that you have been with me through all my good and bad times❤️love kisses to my mother who made me a daddy... Happy Wedding Anniversary 🧿🧿"

On the work front, Pugazh garnered appreciation for his performance in Gautham Karthik's period action drama film August 16 1947 earlier this year. Currently, a part of a few upcoming ventures, the Cooku with Comali comedy star is also making his debut as a hero in the upcoming Mr. Zookeeper, which will see him appearing alongside animals on the big screen, with a chunk of filming wrapped up already.
