Saravanan had recently shot to fame once again after his stint in Bigg Boss Season 3. The actor was loved by the house mates as well the audience a lot. After his exit, due to some shocking revelations he made to Kamal Haasan, many were upset. Since his eviction not much update came around regarding him. But, recently Saravanan conferred the Kalaimamani Award by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Now, another happy update has come along regarding this actor. Reports state that the Tamil Nadu government has given him an honorary post.

The TN Govt. has given him an important role in the film's subsidies council. The role of this council is to grant a subsidy of up to 7 lacks to encourage smaller films to not cut down on quality. This year, the committee will be choosing films from 2015-17 and subsidies will be given. The council is headed by retired judge Kulasekaran will include actors Saravanan, Singamuthu, director RV Udhayakumar and Liaquat Ali Khan.

Saravanan confessed that, during his college days, he used to get into crowded buses to molest female passengers. This was the reason Bigg Boss made the decision of evicting him from the House immediately as it hurt sentiments of many.
