Actor Kavin is one of the most popular television personalities having starred in the hit, Saravanan Meenatchi, show for 3 years from 2013-2016 and enjoys quite a big family audience following. Kavin is now part of the third edition of the hit Tamil reality TV show, Bigg Boss, in which he is one of the most popular contestants since the ongoing season kicked off a couple of months back. A major highlight of Kavin’s stay in the Bigg Boss house has been his romantic endeavors with actress Sakshi Agarwal, who was evicted a while back, and popular Sri Lankan news reader Losliya Mariyanesan, who is still part of the show. Meanwhile, a shocking development has now transpired as Kavin’s mother, Rajalakshmi aka. Raji, hailing from Trichy in Tamil Nadu along with four of her accomplices have been given 5 years imprisonment by the Trichy Court for operating an illegal chit fund company from 1998-2006.
A complaint was filed on Kavin’s mother Rajalakshmi and her associates in 2007 at the Trichy Crime Branch after 34 members who had given money to their chit fund company that amounts to 32 lakhs and 28 thousand rupeeswas not paid back by them. The Trichy Court has since been prosecuting the case for which they have now given a judgment in which the accused have been declared guilty with a sentence of 5 years imprisonment and Rs. 1000 fine under the fraudulent (money laundering) law and 2 years imprisonment with Rs. 2000 fine under the chit fund law, which adds up to 7 years imprisonment for each of them. Among the accused, Kavin’s mother Rajalakshmi and her accomplices Rani and Dhamayandhi will be serving the jail sentence as the others, namely Soundarajan and Arunagiri have passed away.
