Big B will not celebrate Holi

Even if the celebs don't give us news, their personal blogs do. Big B, in a recent blog post, revealed that he will refrain from participating in Holi celebrations this year in remembrance of the26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Amitabh Bachchan has written, “Holi, the festival of colour and rejoicing and music and dance is around the corner. It was one festival that we enjoyed liberally. The gates of the house open to all and the celebrations lasting till late in the evening from the morning. We have not done that for several years. And this year too, Holi would be given a miss. That joyous spirit has been dampened by the atrocities that our city faced on 26/11. In its wake, somewhere inside us, there is a reluctance to involve ourselves in any kind of exhibition. Professional work is understandable, but private excesses do not find favour in our hearts. And so shall we respect that.”

Big B is indeed setting an example byabstaining from Holi celebrations. Till now, his song 'Rang Barse' from Silsila continues to be the favourite number in the Holi season. When asked if this decision to refrain from the festival of colours is the right one, he wrote, “It is the right thing to do. It would have been recommended by the elders too, in whose memory we have oftenabstained from such activity,” Big B opined. Way to go Bachchan sahib!
