Anurag Basu's latest release Barfi! has been selected as India's official entry to Oscars this year. The movie was chosen from the 20 entries sent from the country. Other strong contenders were Balaji Sakthivel's Vazhakku Enn 18/9 and Rajmouli's Eega.
Other shortlisted films include The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Gangs Of Wasseypur, Ferrari Ki Sawari, Paan Singh Tomar, Gattu, Anhey Ghorhey Da Daan (Punjabi) and Marathi films— Kaksparsh, Deool and Tukaram.
