AVM's comeback film launched

AVM, the esteemed South Indian production house, makes a comeback to Tollywood after a short hiatus with a new film launched on May 2nd 2008 at Rama Naidu Studios. The as-yet-untitled movie has Varun Sandesh (of Happy Days fame) and Vimala Raman in the lead roles.

The muhurat shot was canned with the lead pair; Marthand Shankar, well-known editor Marthand K. Venkatesh’s brother, debuts as the director.

M. Saravanan states, “AVM has produced over 30 films in Telugu. This is the 172nd production for AVM. The movie is being conceptualised as a family entertainer.”

Director Shankar said, “The film is aimed to appeal to every class of audience." Varun Sandhesh exclaimed, “It is a grand sensation to work for a prestigious banner.” Actress Vimala Raman stated, “I have done 10 films, but this is my Telugu debut.”

Let us hope this eclectic mix of the young and the traditional achieve and break a lot of new ground.
