It's official - Ajith Kumar's Thunivu will open in cinemas worldwide on January 11, the film's producer Boney Kapoor has announced on social media. One of the most-awaited Tamil ventures in recent times, the upcoming film is billed to be the Tamil superstar's biggest release to date and is being presented in Tamil Nadu by Red Giant Movies, while Lyca Productions is handling the overseas distribution. The mystery and excitement surrounding Thunivu's release date have been massive for quite some time now as there was considerable debate on whether it would come out in theatres on January 11 or 12 and producer Boney Kapoor's latest announcement will no doubt send Ajith's ardent fans everywhere into a state of elation.

Thunivu is riding high on tremendous excitement after the film's electrifying trailer was released a few days back and has since gone on to become a rage among fans, who continue to debate about Ajith's power-packed performance alongside the rest of the cast among whom include Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken to name a notable few. With the confirmation coming from Boney Kapoor himself now along with new release posters for Thunivu, fans will now kick-start their preparations for the celebrations up ahead.

The buzz for Thunivu is huge considering it is the third consecutive outing for Ajith with director H. Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, and the Zee Studios banners after their Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) and Valimai (2022). With the core plot of the film set around a bank heist, fans will be expecting the trio to come up with an edge-of-the-seat entertainer, especially after the trailer gave a glimpse into what is to be witnessed next on the big screen. Ajith, whose role will include negative shades, has once again left his fans thrilled after a few shots in the Thunivu trailer showed him throwing sarcasm, while also vibing to the beats, and it now remains to be seen what he along with H. Vinoth and Boney Kapoor have come up with for everyone.
