'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu also starring Rashmika Mandanna is set for a mammoth worldwide release this Pongal and preparations are already underway to make it the biggest theatrical outing for the superstar in his glorious career. Produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the upcoming film billed to be a wholesome family entertainer is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and features music by composer Thaman. S, whose songs have turned out to be chart-topping hits. With the highly-anticipated Varisu trailer releasing on Wednesday, January 4 at 5 pm, the makers had also announced that the film has been certified 'U' by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The news of Varisu being certified 'U' will have come as a big joy to the film's team and the fans, and indeed paves the way for a larger audience turnout in theatres. However, the most striking aspect is that it is the first time in five years that a Vijay-starrer has secured a 'U' certificate when the actor's Bairavaa released in 2017 was certified the same. Bairavaa came out as a Pongal treat six years back and was the last Vijay film to be certified 'U' by the CBFC after which all of the superstar's ventures have come out with a 'U/A' certificate.
