Silambarasan TR's Pathu Thala was recently confirmed to be releasing worldwide in cinemas on March 30 by blockbuster producer K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green banner. Being presented by Jayantilal Gada's Pen Studios, the upcoming film directed by Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Obeli N. Krishna also stars Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar, and features music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. One of the most-awaited films among Simbu's fans, Priya Bhavani Shankar revealed on social media on Tuesday, January 3, that she has completed dubbing her portions for Pathu Thala, while also posting photos from the studio alongside Obeli Krishna and a few crew members. 

Priya Bhavani Shankar wrote on Twitter, "That’s a dubbing wrap for #PathuThala   Thank you @nameis_krishna sir and the entire team for making the experience a fun and lovely. Let us all have a happy start to a happiest new year". It has been revealed that the youth sensation will be playing the role of a tehsildar in Pathu Thala, which is yet another big part for the actress in a film that also includes names like filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, who has been cast as the antagonist, followed by Kalaiyarasan, Asuran fame Teejay Arunasalam, poet Manushyaputhiran, Doctor star Redin Kingsley, Malayalam actress Anu Sithara, and popular child artiste Manasvi Kottachi of Imaikkaa Nodigal and Maamanithan fame. There are massive expectations for Pathu Thala among Silambarasan's fans as they look forward to seeing the actor deliver his third blockbuster film on the trot after Maanaadu in 2021 and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu in 2022. The film is said to be a remake of the Kannada box office money-spinner Mufti, which had Dr. Shivarajkumar playing the role of a gangster and Srimurali as an undercover cop, with the Tamil version seeing Simbu and Gautham Murali portraying their roles, respectively.
