Mani Ratnam directed Agni Natchathiram is a 1988 movie about the constant bickering between two half-brothers. This movie made it big at the box office, and starred two very good artistes; Prabhu and Karthik, and had some wonderful music by Ilaiyaraja.

The latest is that the remake rights of the movie has been acquired by T.Ramesh, who is the producer of Osthi and Samar. Agni Natchathiram is to be remade in Tamil and Telugu. Ramesh has said that he is looking forward to the remake and is currently in talks with the top actors of Kollywood and Tollywood.
