Popular South Indian actress Poorna aka. Shamna Kasim tied the knot with Shanid Asif Ali, a Dubai-based businessman, the founder and CEO of JBS Group of Companies, on Monday, October 24, in a traditional wedding ceremony as per Muslim customs in the presence of family members and close friends. The 33-year-old has been sharing photos from the ceremony and is seen smiling from ear to ear in the pictures with her dear hubby, with congratulatory messages and wishes pouring in from celebrities and fans. 

Posting the wedding pics on social media, Shamna wrote in the caption: "Well I might not be the most beautiful woman in the world, nor do I possess all the traits of a good spouse, but you never made me feel any less of myself. You’ve adored me for who I am and never attempted to change me. It also encouraged me to work on myself to bring out the best in me." The star performer added, "Today, amidst our near and dear ones you and I start this fabulous journey of togetherness. Tamil cinema fans will know Shamna Kasim after she made her debut in the Bharath-starrer Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu (2008) under Thirumurugan's direction. She later appeared in films like Nakkhul's Kandhakottai, the Srikanth and Vishnu Vishal-starrer Drohi, Nandha's Vellore Maavattam, and Arulnithi's Thagararu. Shamna had also tonsured her head for her role in the Sasikumar-starrer Kodiveeran, which was directed by Muthaiah, with her performance earning her praises from fans and critics. She also starred in pivotal roles in films like Jayam Ravi's Adanga Maru, Suriya's Kaappaan, Vaibhav's Lockup, and Kangana Ranaut's Thalaivii, to name a notable few. As for her upcoming roles, Shamna will be seen next in Tamil in ace film-maker Mysskin's highly-anticipated Pisaasu 2, which has Andrea Jeremiah and Vijay Sethupathi in the cast, followed by the Nani and Keerthy Suresh-starrer Dasara in Telugu.
