Due to the current pandemic situation, film shootings have been stalled and this has been the case for the past four months. However, the Tamil Nadu Government granted permission to resume post-production works (like editing, music recording, dubbing, sound effects, computer graphics, animation, etc.) with safety measures. Having said that, Vijay Sethupathi recently started dubbing for his next film, Laabam, directed by acclaimed filmmaker S.P.Jhananathan. Laabam will feature Vijay Sethupathi in different makeovers and he is paired opposite Shruti Haasan in this socio-political drama.

The dubbing happened amidst the lockdown with precautionary measures in practice in the presence of 4-5 people. The pictures from the dubbing studio has been doing good rounds on social media and this news has come as a delightful update for the fans. Laabam is touted to be one of Vijay Sethupathi’s important films that will leave a significant impact on the audience. With a director like S.P.Jhananathan at the helm, one can be sure that the film will have some strong and thought provoking dialogues.

Vijay Sethupathi (Vijay Sethupathi Productions) has produced this film along with his Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren director, CS Arumugakumar (7Cs Entertainment Pvt Ltd). Apart from Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan, Laabam also features Kalaiyarasan, Jagapathi Babu, Sai Dhanshika, Harish Uthaman in the star cast. On the technical front, Laabam has music scored by D Imman, cinematography by Ramji and editing by Anthony.

Vijay Sethupathi is said to have played the role of a social activist in this film. The audio rights of Laabam was acquired by Lahari Music. Considering the fact that Vijay Sethupathi and other actors have started dubbing for their respective portions in Laabam, it looks like the film is progressing towards its release. The audio and trailer release updates are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.

Apart from Laabam, Vijay Sethupathi has various other interesting projects including Master (as the villain), Kadaisi Vivasayi, Ka Pae Ranasingam, Maamanithan, Yaadhum Oorey Yaavarum Kelir, Tughlaq Durbar, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Uppena (Telugu), Laal Singh Chaddha (Hindi) and Muttiah Muralidharan's biopic drama and all these projects are in different stages of production.
