For a while now, there has been excitement surrounding director Venkat Prabhu’s Maanaadu starring STR in the lead role under Suresh Kamatchi’s V House Productions banner with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. With the film planned to roll into production from October or November, we had revealed that Venkat Prabhu will be directing a web series with Kajal Aggarwal for the popular streaming platform, Hotstar. We had recently further confirmed that the shooting for the web series will begin from the second week of August. Now, sources close to us have revealed that Meyaadha Maan fame Vaibhav will be playing the male lead in this web series and will subsequently be their next association after working together previously in Saroja, Goa, Mankatha and Chennai 600028 II while also making cameo appearances in a few of the director’s other projects.
With Vaibhav now revealed to be playing the lead opposite Kajal Aggarwal in the Hotstar web series, some are stating the project could take off from the events of Saroja released in 2008, in which Vaibhav was seen to be in love with Kajal Aggarwal, who eventually gets into a relationship with Mirchi Shiva. Whether the upcoming Venkat Prabhu-directed web series will pick up from the events pf Saroja surrounding the characters of Vaibhav and Kajal Aggarwal or it will be a completely new plot remains to be seen.
