One of the most reputed filmmakers in the Tamil film industry and Indian cinema, National Award-winning filmmaker has made films that have gone on to become cult classics. Right from his directorial debut, Pollathavan, the director followed it up with Aadukalam, Visaranai and last year’s Vada Chennai. With his upcoming film with Dhanush, Asuran, nearing a finish soon, in light of an October release, it has now been revealed that Vetrimaaran’s next film will be with comedian Soori in the lead role with the venture to be produced by Elred Kumar’s RS Infotainment, which is known for bankrolling hits like Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, Ko, Neethane En Ponvasantham and Yaamirukka Bayamaen.
The upcoming project will mark Soori’s debut in the lead role with the film being billed to be a laugh riot and a thorough entertainer in the making on a really big budget with the rest of the cast and crew members expected to be announced in the days ahead. As for director Vetrimaaran’s upcoming projects apart from Asuran, the acclaimed filmmaker has already shot around 20% of the Vada Chennai sequel titled, Vada Chennai 2, with Dhanush recently confirming on his social media pages that the second film in the planned trilogy is definitely on with more announcements set to follow soon.
