Aishwarya Rajesh and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Ka Pae Ranasingam released last week and it has opened to a positive reception from the general audience. Despite having a longer runtime, the film is being applauded for its strong content and the intent to address a lesser known sensitive topic. Aishwarya Rajesh delivered an impactful performance as Ariyanaachi and she led the film from the front and it is indeed an important outing in her filmography. The film deals with the challenging journey of Ariyanaachi in bringing the mortal remains of her dead husband from abroad. The film’s emotional moments and the climax struck a chord with the audience and it has been getting a good reception.

According to reports, Ka Pae Ranasingam has already recorded 4.3 lakh streams so far and it is said to be a great number. The film is out on Zee Plex platform and it is one of the first Tamil films to have opted for the pay per view basis. The ticket price was fixed at Rs 199 per watch and it seems to have got a good opening. The film is releasing in other languages tomorrow (October 9) on the same platform. Ka Pae Ranasingam is produced by KJR Studios and the banner has been actively involved in controlling piracy to their potential.

Having said that, the company has now caught a local cable channel named STN (Southern Television Network) Media for broadcasting the film illegally. It is a known fact that local cable channels telecast recently released Tamil films illegally in the towns of Southern part of Tamil Nadu. Officials from KJR Studios and Ka Pae Ranasingam team, along with the help of Police officials seized the electronic items in the STN Media house and a case has been filed against them. KJR Studios shared the video of catching the channel red-handed and tweeted, “STN media who shamelessly broadcasted our film #KaPaeRanasingam on their channel was caught red-handed & arrested with the help of @tnpoliceoffl Piracy is a serious issue & we strongly request, warn & advice everyone not to indulge in or consume pirated content!”. Piracy is a never ending problem for Tamil cinema, but it is appreciable when production companies take strict action against people who are involved in these illegal activities.

Ka Pae Ranasingam is directed by debutant P Virumandi and has music scored by Ghibran. Apart from Aishwarya Rajesh and Vijay Sethupathi, the film also features Rangaraj Pandey, Munishkanth Ramadoss, Vela Ramamoorthy, Arunraja Kamaraj, Bhavani Sre in supporting roles.
